Ari Encouraging Naps: an ongoing photo project

It's a proven fact, sleeping babies encourage snuggly naps. Some of my favorite pictures from my childhood involve me napping on some of my favorite people while they also nap (there is one of me and my dad where there is some extra gravitational force keeping me from falling off...), so when a cute snuggle nap is happening, I try to grab a pic.

FRIENDS! pt. 1 (just the first two weeks)

Ari had so many friends come by in his first few weeks! Everyone got a snuggle and most an official baby portrait. Here are some of the winners (portraits not friends!)

Real smiles, fake RAGE and skillz!

Ari's fave spot to play is on the changing table, he's often all wiggles and smiles, and now that he can really look at you and track toys he's a lot of fun. He had a pretty lengthy conversation/staring contest with Captain Calamari the other day... He's starting to reach for toys, particularly some of the captain's tentacles, I think he thinks they might be pretty tasty. We took some pictures the other night hoping for our first photograpic evidence of real smiles. We got real smiles, and this hilarious one (he's actually starting a yawn, but it looks like he's about to go on a baby rage induced rampage).

VISITORS!

We have had loads of wonderful vistors (both local and afar... we'll have to do a bit of a retrospective) but this week we had a drive by, or really a fly by, from Gene, Cami & Sloane (Mike's uncle and cousins) down from Portland for the day! It was a rainy day, so we stuck inside and played.

Going on an adventure

Now that I'm feeling a little more like an actual person again, we're trying to get out every day (well, every day it's not raining... no need for unnecessary pain). Our fave way is in the ergo, as it's easy, snuggly and if we time it right, Ari falls asleep in two blocks and sleeps for an hour and a half. Besides, if we use the stroller he generally freezes looking vaguely horrified and as though he thinks we might abandon him somewhere on the road...

One Month Old!

On Feb. 15th the boy turned one month! Yup, back posting here, but making promises moving forward. He was a little amusingly surly during the photoshoot... don't worry smiles come soon.

When my mom was up visiting for the weekend, we decided the little man was due (well overdue) for his first bath. Fortunately he loooooved it. He was chipper and happy the whole time, and was a big fan of his Cookie Monster towel. Also, enjoy the bonus pic of Ari & my mom on the ball... cutest ever.
